The SourceData team open-sources the machine learning models used by the SmartFigures and Early Evidence Base projects. These pre-trained models can be incorporated into other projects to carry out tasks like biological entity classification and analysis of text from the life sciences.

EMBO reports on the public launch of Early Evidence Base from SourceData, the machine learning platform that finds refereed preprints for a given topic. In the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, EMBO looks at how this technology can help to quickly find reliable research when speed is of the essence.
